ARTISAN BAKERY - AGENDA 2030
The Artisanal Bakery was a project of the Scouts of Brazil – São Paulo Region, financed by Cargill, to bring healthy and delicious bread recipes to communities in São Paulo. The initiative covers Scouts and non-Scouts, that is, any public or private organization could participate in the activities provided by the program. Bauhinia took care of the management of the Artisanal Bakery Project. For the execution of the activities, we were based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals so that we could through the theme of bakery support the 2030 Agenda.
Our goals:
Transmitting knowledge and skills in bakery to the communities of São Paulo.
Encourage no food waste through sustainable recipes;
Stimulate entrepreneurship in communities;
Awaken interest in healthy foods;
Create healthy habits multipliers in communities and local scout units;
Opening the Jaraguá Scout Center to the surrounding community;
RESULTS:
More than 1500 people received Artisanal Bakery classes.
All regions of the Capital of São Paulo received workshops from the Program
48 external workshops and 16 courses were held at the Jaraguá Scout Center
928 breads were made and distributed in deprived areas
The team of instructors, according to the Evaluation, received a positive evaluation, in which the majority of the students evaluated it as “Excellent” or “very good.
